Bosch DLR165K Laser Rangefinder – Is It Worth Getting?
Should you ditch your trusty measuring tape, and upgrade to the compact Bosch DLR165K Laser Rangefinder? Well, there’s no need to be that drastic… but the DLR165K does deliver.
Measuring in at only 4″ the Bosch rangefinder is easy to handle, and can be gripped in the hand confidently without worrying about it slipping. It comes with a convenient carrying case and strap, for those who want to hang it from their belt, when it’s not in use.
The DLR165K calculates measurements in: metric, decimal feet, ft/inches and fractional inches with a consistent accuracy of 1/16″. Some of the functions include: linear measurement, area and volume calculations, memory for cumulative measurements and height using Pythagorean Theorem.
As you might expect, it may be a little hard to see the dot for the laser, when doing measurements outdoors… but in this case, wearing shades/sunglasses should take care of that.
Ben Jackson over at Toologics.com says, “say goodbye to your measuring tape!” You might not want to go that far, there are times when a tape measure can still come in handy… but, I get where he’s coming from.
The Bosch DLR165K is for anyone who is tired of asking someone to hold the other end of the tape measure (assuming you’re not measuring on your own). Or for anyone needing to get quick accurate measurements – especially in hard to reach spaces. For all it does, the Bosch DLR165K Laser Rangefinder is a steal for device under $140.
If you already own the DLR165K, please leave your feedback below. We would love to hear how the rangefinder is working out for you.
